From Upland testing for our Pointers to water work with our Retrievers, Great Lakes Sport Dog Assn sets up scenarios that can help 'turn on' a new pup to challenging the seasoned hunter. Our tests are tailored to the canines ability level, yet urges the trainer to increase its knowledge and ability in the field.
Though all of our tests are formal tests judged by a "standard" set up by the North American Dog Sports and Registry, competition is voluntary, and you are welcome to run our course as a training tool without being judged. Competing in our tests, however, earns your canine points towards titles from the NADSR that proves excellence in the sport.
Obedience is an important factor with owning any canine. Whether the family pet or the competing sport dog, a well behaved and social dog is a pleasure to own and be around. Great Lakes Sport Dog Assn and the North American Dog Sports and Registry (NADSR) recognizes these canines with our obedience tests.
In the relaxed, family oriented format that Great Lakes Sport Dog Assn has become famous for, your canine is tested for general obedience skills and behavior. These events are fantastic for Scouts, 4-H Clubs, the disabled and everyone interested in a well behaved and obedient companion.
Points earned with these tests count toward Obedience Titles from the NADSR.
